Real Estate Agents Tip Ann Arbor Pizza Delivery Driver Over $2,000 [Video]

After the viral video of a pizza delivery man being harassed by rude employees at a used car dealership in Massachusetts, it’s nice to see people doing a really generous thing for someone in the service industry.

Brian LeFevre, manager at Pizza House in Ann Arbor got a call Thursday morning from a man who requested on pizza be delivered to the Sheraton Hotel.

“They said they wanted it at 2:20 p.m. on the dot,” LeFevre told the Detroit Free Press. “I gave it to our delivery driver and he went down there and took it to the front desk.”

Little did the driver know what awaited him at the hotel.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the driver was escorted to a conference room where a man stood with a microphone. Waiting in the room were also more than 200 realtors from Michigan and Ohio from Keller Williams Realty.

The driver delivers the pizza, and then is presented with a Visa gift card, lottery tickets, letters of encouragement– and a tip totaling $2,084.

The emcee says,

“We recognize that people go through the world all the time wondering if anyone notices them or does anyone appreciate them. We notice you and we appreciate you. Thank you so much.”

LeFevre says that when the driver, who identifies himself as Rob in the video, came back to the Pizza House, he was visibly happy.

“He was clearly pretty ecstatic about something so I asked him what’s going on. He said, ‘I just had a life-changing delivery.’ He was kind of blown away.”

LeFevre said he’s never seen a driver earn such a large tip,

“For one pizza, that’s a pretty good day’s work. It’s nice to be appreciated.”

Stacey McVey, team leader of Keller Williams Greater Cleveland West, told the Detroit Free Press,

“Our company as a whole is very interested in doing things like that. It’s really important as businesses that we give back. We believe a group of people can come together and change a life and cause other people to think about how to change others’ lives. People in the service industry, I think they’re pretty under-appreciated. It’s a lot of fun to do something like this.”

McVey said when the driver realized what was going on, it was a priceless moment.

“He was a little stunned. Everyone was excited and you could kind of feel the energy in the room. This is the first time we’ve done anything over the top and this won’t be the last.”
