Prince is the musical guest on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” this week.

His performance will be different than other “SNL” entertainers for the Nov. 1 appearance.

Instead of doing two separate performances, the legendary singer will perform an eight-minute-long jam session with no commercial interruption during the middle of the show.

This will mark the third time Prince has performed on “Saturday Night Live,” with his┬áprevious appearances in 1981 and 2006.

Prince will be accompanied by his all-woman back-up group 3rdEyeGirl, with which he recorded the album “PlectrumElectrum.”

Entertainer, comedian, producer, director and actor Chris Rock is this week’s guest host.
