Pharrell Cries Tears of Joy Over ‘Happy’ on ‘Oprah’ [Video]

Pharrell Williams has brought a whole new meaning to the word ‘Happy.’ The singer was moved to tears during his recent interview with Oprah when he watched videos of fans across the world dance to his hit song.

The talk show host and singer were discussing how the infectious tune has gone viral when she showed him dozens of video clips of fans all over the globe singing and dancing to the song. Pharrell was so overcome with emotion that he could barely speak, his eyes red-rimmed and wet with tears.

“Why am I crying on Oprah?” he eventually choked out through tears.

“It’s being used for something that’s greater than yourself,” Oprah explained. “I get it.”

“It’s overwhelming because, it’s like, I love what I do and I just appreciate the fact that people believed in me for so long that I could make it to this point that I can feel, that I can feel that,” he said.

Not only was Pharrell so incredibly touched by the video, we were so moved by his emotional reaction. That is what it means to be an entertainer: to be able to move people and make people happy on such a large scale that it surpasses your wildest dreams.

Congratulations, Pharrell!
