‘Penguins of Madagascar:’ ‘The A Team’ In Furry Tuxedoes [Video]

DreamWorks

“Penguins of Madagascar” is a spinoff from the original DreamWorks’ 2005 film, “Madagascar.”

The movie shows the origins of the lovable penguins who breakout on their own to become a super spy team.

DreamWorks
The team of Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and (newly-hatched) Private become a band of brothers who discover a dastardly plot by Dr. Octavious Brine (played by John Malkovich) to turn all of the world’s cute and cuddly penguins into monsters. By the way, the doctor is an octopus.

The penguins team up with a super chic, super spy team The North Wind to foil Dr. Brine’s evil plans. Powered by cheesy snacks, the team travels to exotic locations around the world; always just a step behind the evil octopus.

Of course, as in most espionage movies– even animated ones, you can count on the team to foil the bad guys’ evil plan in the end.

“Penguins” is a fun romp around the world with the cute and quirky team led by Skipper.

He expects loyalty from his men and obsessed with order. Meanwhile his “go-to” man is Kowalski. Rico is obsessed with making things go BOOM! Finally, Private is the cute one in the group. Together, they make up a team who are comparable to any movie team who has come before them. They are “The A Team” in furry tuxedoes!

The penguins have always been the best part of the “Madagascar” movies, So, “Penguins of Madagascar” is like getting a bag of jelly beans that are all in your favorite flavor. They are very enjoyable.

“Penguins of Madagascar” has a run time of 92 minutes and is rated PG for some crude humor. On my Hollywood Popcorn Scale, “Penguins” gets my highest rating: a jumbo (with extra butter)!
