‘One Night at The Sweat Hotel:’ Keith Sweat in Concert Aug. 2 at Grand Rapids’ DeVos Performance Hall [Video]
Iconic R&B singer-songwriter Keith Sweat brings his stylish and sophisticated set of urban soul and new jack swing to Grand Rapids for an Aug. 2 performance.
The concert is at DeVos Performance Hall at 8 p.m. EST.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. EST Wednesday, and will be available for $39, $47, $52, and $100 at DeVos Place’s and Van Andel Arena‘s box offices; Ticketmaster ticket centers; online at Ticketmaster.com; or by phone at (800) 745-3000.
With a catalog of some of the biggest R&B hits, Sweat debuted with his 1987 smash “I Want Her.” Hitting the top of both the R&B and pop charts and after selling more than three million copies of his debut album “Make It Last Forever,” Sweat left his job as a brokerage assistant on Wall Street to dive into the thick of R&B music.
Since, Sweat has continued creating hit songs, including “(There You Go) Telling Me No,” “Why Me Baby,” “Keep it Comin’,” “Twisted,” “Nobody,” “Just A Touch,” “Come And Get With Me” and “I’m Not Ready,” among others.
Since 2007, Sweat has had a syndicated weeknight radio show. Currently in 21 markets across the United States. “The Sweat Hotel” plays music from the ’70s to current releases and is broadcast in Atlanta from his studio at Premiere Radio Networks. Also in 2007, he produced the CD “Sweat Hotel Live.”
Last year, Sweat garnered honors with a 2013 Soul Train Life Time Achievement Award.
Sweat is currently on tour, and also has Michigan performances this year slated June 22 at the River Days Festival in Detroit and Dec. 29 at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mount Pleasant.
