Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Pusha T & More Discuss Criminal Justice Reform With President Obama

Music artists Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Pusha T, Alicia Keys, DJ Khaled, Ludacris, Common, Busta Rhymes and more visited the White House to discuss criminal justice reform with President Barack Obama on Friday (April 15).

The conference was part of President Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative with the goal to help young people reach their full potential through mentoring programs and support networks. The aforementioned artists have been assisting in motivating black youths and other minorities to stay on the right path.

Pusha T was moved by the panel discussion and went on his Instagram page to reflect on his meeting with the Prez.

“4/15/16 I was invited to the White House by the POTUS to speak about prison reform at a table with many of my peers in music,” he wrote. “History was made in that conference room, I’m sure that room has never looked the way it did today. This was my first time ever visiting the White House, I missed that particular school field trip. Thank you again Mr. President for the invite…God is the greatest and Obama is definitely the realest.”

Other rappers like Common and Ludacris revealed their gold-sealed placard as proof that they were in attendance. Meanwhile, Minaj secured a genuine autographed photo from POTUS, himself. “To Nicki, Proud of you…Keep it up,” Obama wrote on the picture.
