Movie Review: ‘The Boy Next Door’ [Video]
She’s the executive producer and also stars in the movie.
The hype is about the supposed thrilling suspense of the movie and somehow the rumor is making the rounds that Lopez appears naked in the movie.
However, the movie has all the suspense of a sappy Lifetime Network movie and nowhere in the movie does Lopez take off all of her laundry. (I’ve seen more skin in the Victoria Secrets Fashion Show.)
Overall, it’s just a disappointing movie.
Claire Peterson (portrayed by Lopez) makes the mistake of getting involved with the 19-year-old hunk next door, Noah (Ryan Guzman).
After a brief one-night stand, Claire comes to her senses and tries to break off the affair, but the young boy next door goes all “Fatal Attraction” on her and soon she discovers she’s dealing with a psycho of epic proportions.
The movie was so improbable that I couldn’t get involved in the plot. Never once did Lopez’s character do something that common sense would dictate, such as calling the police!
The whole move was just nonsensical.
“The Boy Next Door” runs 91 minutes and is rated “R” for violence and some nudity (not J-Lo’s). On my Hollywood Popcorn Scale, I rate this movie a SMALL.
