Keshia Knight Pulliam Fired From ‘Celebrity Apprentice’
Keshia Knight Pulliam — aka Rudy Huxtable on ‘The Cosby Show’ — was fired from ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ after she refused to reach out to Bill Cosby for his assistance with a charity event.
Though the episode was filmed before the sexual assault and rape allegations against the comedian came to light, Pulliam’s firing has quickly made headlines.
In last night’s (Jan. 4) episode, the former child actress was the project manager for an all-female team — which included fellow celebs like Kate Gosselin, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and ‘Real Housewives’ star Brandi Glanville — and was trying to raise money for her charity. Donald Trump told her in no uncertain terms that not calling Cosby led to her firing from the show.
“I have not talked to Bill Cosby on the phone in I don’t know how long,” Pulliam explained after receiving criticism for not reaching out to him (quote via Us Weekly). “For me to pick up the phone having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event, I feel that’s not my place to do.”
“You are an amazing person, but you were the project manager,” Trump explained. “You didn’t make one call that I really believe that if you’d called that gentleman he would have helped you, even if you hadn’t spoken to him in years. You were an amazing team with one of the most successful shows ever, so I think it would have been a good call to make for charity. You have to take responsibility.”
Trump later took to Twitter to clarify his remarks — and still emphasize his belief that Pulliam should’ve reached out:
This show was taped just before the terrible Bill Cosby revelations came to light. She still should have asked him for money-goes to charity.
