Not only does Kendrick Lamar love himself, but the ‘i’ rapper also loves Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ hit ‘Shake it Off.’

During a recent interview with The FADER, the West Coast MC admitted he “loved” Swift’s single before singing a bit of the hook. Not embarrassed about flexing his vocal chops he said, “I ain’t playin’, I say what I mean and I mean what I say.”

Earlier today, he visited K104’s ‘DeDe in the Morning’ and showcased his freestyle skills by rhyming over Swift’s ‘Shake It Off.’ “K.Dot, you know that he’s hot / I can do rhythm hip-hop, I can do pop / We talkin’ ’bout the black, we talkin’ bout the brown / We talking bout the white, it don’t care who you around,” he raps.

Kendrick’s love for the pop star’s music is mutual as she told Rolling Stone the ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’s ‘Backstreet Freestyle’ was her perfect pick-me-up jam. “You want to know a trick to immediately go from feeling victimized to feeling awesome?” she said before playing the track. “This is my go-to.”

The singer loves the song so much she celebrated her No. 1 album, ‘1989’ — she sold 1.287 million albums in its first week of release — by posting an Instagram video of herself in a car rapping along to Kendrick’s  ‘Backstreet’ freestyle.
