Update: Pitchfork confirms Kendrick Lamar will induct N.W.A. into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at this year’s ceremony.

When it’s all said and done, Kendrick Lamar will likely be a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But before he gets his shine, K. Dot will do the inducting and will likely welcome N.W.A into the Cleveland, Ohio museum as part of the 2016 class. Along with Lamar, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, the Black Keys and Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas will serve as inductors. This year’s inductees are the aforementioned N.W.A,, Steve Miller, Chicago, Cheap Trick and Deep Purple. The ceremony will take place April 8 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

“I am humbled by the nomination and recognition of N.W.A’s contribution to music and culture by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Ice Cube told the New York Daily News. “It has been an incredible year for us as a group, for our loyal fans and in helping us to all keep Eazy-E‘s memory alive.”

While Lamar will be including in honoring music legends in April, the rapper hopes to boost his resume by winning all 11 Grammy awards he is nominated for at this year’s incarnation of the show. ““I want to win them all,” he told Billboard“[The Grammy defeats] would have been upsetting to me if I’d known that was my best work, if I had nothing new to offer. Good Kid, M.A.A.D City is great work, but it’s not my best work. To Pimp a Butterfly is great. I’m talking about the connection the record made. Good Kid, M.A.A.D City made a connection. But To Pimp a Butterfly made a bigger connection…It’s bigger than me. When we think about the Grammys, only Lauryn Hill and Outkast have won album of the year. This would be big for hip-hop culture at large.”

Kendrick’s To Pimp a Butterfly is nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album.
