Joe Jackson Pens Tributes to Janet Jackson, Other Jackson Family Members

For the past two weeks, Joe Jackson has published short memoirs about his relationship with each of his famous offspring via his official website.

In his newest installment, he addresses Janet Jackson.

Janet, the youngest child of the Jackson family, was a “very smart” and “tough kid,” Joe recalls, “She was a tomboy. She could whop all the girls.”

He then states that “she is really easy nowadays. She has mellowed. She is now married and living a good life with her husband.”

Among Janet’s many accomplishments, Joe notes that she always had a knack for acting, which is a talent that he believes the “world has yet to recognize.”

Although she’s starred in major films — like “Poetic Justice,” with Tupac Shakur; and “The Nutty Professor,” opposite Eddie Murphy — Joe believes that she was destined to be “bigger,” which was a comment that initially upset Janet.

“I knew she was going to channel that anger to prove that she could do better and was right. She came back even stronger with greater movies. And you have not seen the best of her yet. That’s my girl,” he writes.

He adds: “She wants to have a good part in a strong action movie. I can’t wait to see her in one.”

Janet’s father concluded his letter by recalling that she was one of the two people that visited him in the hospital after he suffered four strokes.

“She sat right next to me as I lay in bed, spent time with me, talking about a lot together. It meant a lot to me,” he writes. “I lay there listening to her as she talked about how she was going to get married. I am happy for her and wish her nothing but the best ! I never tell you this, but I am proud of you Janet.”
