Rihanna is being sued for never performing at a show she was booked for back in 2013. But was the show booker tricked by impostors?

TMZ reports that Chris Ubosi is suing the Barbados-born R&B star and her label, Jay Z‘s Roc Nation, claiming that his company Megalectrics paid reps of RiRi $160,000 for a May 2013 performance in Nigeria. Unfortunately, once the money was pocketed by the two people claiming to rep Rihanna, the ANTI star never held up her end of the deal. Ubosi says the reps asked to postpone the show, to which he agreed under the condition that the “Work” singer would post the new concert date on her social media, notifying her combined 100 million followers of the new show. Rihanna never posted the new date and as a result, Ubosi cancelled the show and is demanding his money back.

TMZ got in touch with reps at Roc Nation concerning the suit. Roc Nation released a statement, saying, “Rihanna, Roc Nation nor anyone associated personally or professionally with either party was in contact with this person. Unfortunately this person was scammed. Rihanna nor Roc Nation collected any money for this event.”

While $160,000 is pennies for Rih and HOV, booking scams are nothing new in the hip-hop world. Rappers like Rich Homie Quan, Boosie Badazz and Lil Wayne have all had to deal with the headache of someone impersonating themselves as a member of their team to get booking money. But rest assured, RiRi and Jay are definitely unbothered by this ordeal as Rih is getting ready to take Europe by storm on the second leg of her ANTI World Tour with support from Big Sean while Jay accompanies his wife Beyonce on the North American leg of her Formation World Tour all summer.
