‘Tonight Show’ Host Jay Leno Says He Was ‘Blindsided’ by NBC [Video]

Remember back in 2009 when Jay Leno left “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” for the first time and was replaced with Conan O’Brien?

Then, about six months later after NBC wasn’t happy with O’Brien, they got rid of him and brought Leno back?

Of course you do. It was the biggest story in the world for a while.

In an interview that aired Sunday night on CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” Leno talked for the first time about what went down behind the scenes with the whole fiasco.

Leno, who reached out to CBS to do the interview, said that he was “blindsided” by NBC’s decision to kick him to the curb and pass the reigns to O’Brien.

He also said that he was pretty disappointed with the way the media portrayed him as the bad guy when NBC brought him back months later.

Leno’s final episode of “The Tonight Show” will air next month, with Jimmy Fallon leaving NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and taking over for Leno.

And it seems like Leno’s being forced out once again.
