‘Flint Town’ Documentary Coming to Netflix, View the NSFW Trailer

Netflix has announced an original documentary set to premiere globally on March 2 titled Flint Town.

The documentary will share the state of policing in America through the lens of the Flint Police Department.

Flint Town has eight episodes. The filmmakers follow police officers who are faced with infrastructure issues and decreasing resources as Flint struggles in the aftermath of water contamination. The documentary was filmed over two years.

The trailer shows the strong history of Flint, calling it a “great place to grow up” and “home of the middle class.” It shows the major changes we’ve seen in more recent years, asking where Flint’s breaking point is and saying that things “changed quick.”

Netflix describes the photos shown below which show scenes from the documentary:

“Officer Bridget Balasko holds a small child while her father is being searched and questioned. The suspect on the left claimed to have just lost his job and didn’t have anywhere to go so he was just hanging in his car with his daughter until the child’s mother got off of work. At one point, the child was crying and Balasko reached into the suspect’s pocket to pull out a pacifier for her.”

“Police cadets Dion Reed, 20, and his mother Maria Reed train together at Mott Police Academy. The Academy is only a 4 month program and both Dion and Maria will be joining the Flint Police Department right after graduation. The Reeds will be the first new hires for the Flint Police Deparment in 3 years, after a series of massive cuts.”

“The Northwestern High School dance team performs during half time of the first football game of the season. As the population of Flint declines so does school enrollment. It’s gotten to the point that the city is considering consolidating all the remaining students into one high school.”
