‘Empire’ Guest Star Serayah McNeill Announces Upcoming Mixtape [Audio]
She guest starred as Tiana Brown on Wednesday nights in Fox’s hit new drama “Empire.”
Serayah McNeill was in her first acting job with the television show role, and is looking to capitalize on her rising fame by returning to her first love music.
She says she plans to release her first mixtape this summer.
In “Empire,” her character Brown was the girlfriend of Hakeem Lyon (played by Bryshere Gray), a rap artist who is the youngest son of Lucious and Cookie Lyon in the show. “Empire” has been picked up for a second season by Fox.
“I couldn’t be more excited for the direction my acting and modeling careers are going in, but I will never neglect my love for music,” McNeil said.
A California native who has also lived in Georgia and Washington, she credits watching Aaliyah and Janet Jackson perform on television as her inspiration to pursue a career in music and acting. She currently lives in Los Angeles.
