The Detroit Lions won their final home game of the 2015 regular season Sunday afternoon, December 27th, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 32-17 at Ford Field.

Kicker Matt Prater opened the scoring for the Lions in the first quarter with a 36-yard field goal, which brought the score to 7-3. The Lions were then able to add 17 points in the second quarter, including another field goal for Prater, to take a 20-17 lead into the half.

Prater also had the only points for the Lions in the third quarter, connecting on a 37-yard field goal to give the team a 23-17 lead. Prater kicked one more field goal in the fourth quarter and wide receiver Calvin Johnson caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Matthew Stafford to secure the Lions 32-17 win.

Stafford threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions victory. Johnson caught six passes from Stafford for 77 yards and a touchdown, in what could be the Pro Bowl wide receiver’s final home game in Detroit.

The 49ers were led by quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort.

The Lions will wrap up their 2015 campaign on the road against their division rivals, the Chicago Bears. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 3rd, at Soldier Field.
