Drew Ahmed makes his way through nearly five feet of snow on Wednesday in the Lakeview neighborhood of Buffalo. No, this is not a promotional video for “The Day After Tomorrow.”

This is an actual time-lapse video of the skyline in Buffalo. The imposing white wall pictured is lake-effect snow, which blew in from Lake Erie and ravaged the city Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, more than five feet of snow is already on the ground south of Buffalo in parts of western New York and they are expected to have as much as 8 feet of snow on the ground by Friday!
