Mike Epps has apologized for a picture he posted last week on Facebook and Instagram.

The actor, who portrays Black Doug in “The Hangover” and “The Hangover Part III” movies, took down the photo, which showed three white men picking cotton while a black man stood over them with a whip — and a smiling image of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., in the sky above them.

Epps captioned the picture: “I am so proud of you bro. Lol!”

After the Internet exploded with comments, Epps called TMZ and took down the photo.

“I was just cracking a joke. I’m a comedian, man. I thought it was funny,” he told TMZ. “… I didn’t mean no harm. If I offended anybody, I apologize.”

He said it started when he got the pic from “one of my little bad nephews.”

Epps is currently on his After Dark Tour and also has a new web series titled “That’s Racist with Mike Epps” which debuted last week on AOL.
