Chicago R&B-Pop Singer Keith James Premieres ‘Not My Day’ Visuals [Video]

Chicago R&B and pop artist and songwriter Keith James has released the visuals for his debut single “Not My Day.”

“Not My Day” is inspired by the frustrations of a bad day, according to James.

“We tried to capture the idea that life shouldn’t be taken so seriously and to appreciate the moment and just keep on keeping on,” said Danny Erb, who directed “Not My Day.”

“Keith is one of the nicest people I have ever met and has a huge personality that I am glad we could bring out on screen.”

Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, James’ distinctive blend has led to songwriting gigs with several artists, including Jeremih, Nicki Minaj, Wale and French Montana.

On completing “Not My Day,” James and Schultz both said they believe the electric, upbeat song was something special not to be handed off to someone else.

“Sometimes when a unique song comes along it only makes sense to have the original writer sing it,” Schultz said. “This is Keith’s song!”

To help promote the mix of feel-good hip-hop, pop, R&B and soul, he is also offering a chance to win one of 10 private performances through a contest running until April 19.
