Director Steve McQueen’s slavery-inspired film ’12 Years a Slave’ and actress Lupita Nyong’o were among the big winners at the 2014 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 3). The film won Best Picture along with Best Supporting Actress for Nyong’o and Best Adapted Screenplay for John Ridley.

Pharrell Williams also hit the stage to perform his Oscar-nominated song ‘Happy.’ Although he lost in the Best Original Song Category to ‘Let It Go’ from the animated film ‘Frozen,’ the singer expressed his gratitude on Twitter. “Tonight was amazing. Thank you to everyone who participated in my journey to the #Oscars. Dream come true,” he tweeted.

Many artists expressed their enthusiasm over Nyong’o winning the historic Oscar award while others were disappointed that Pharrell went home empty-handed.

“God is Great! Dreams do come true! BELIEVE AND WORK HARD! #NoExcuses GO!!!!!!” Diddy wrote as the caption for an Instagram photo of the actress beaming with her award. Kelly Rowland also offered her support for Nyong’o: “#CongratsLupita.”

But when it came to Pusha T, he wasn’t a happy camper. The rapper believed Pharrell should have walked away with the Oscar win for Best Original Song. He chose to show his anger using emojis and a very brief caption: “That is all… @pharrell #King4Rell #Love.”
