Alicia Keys Says New Album Is ‘Aggressive’ [Video]
Alicia Keys is slowly dishing out details on her forthcoming album, the follow-up to 2012’s “Girl on Fire.”
In an interview with Vibe, the singer describes her next studio effort as “very truthful” and “aggressive.”
“People are going to interpret it from their own life experience in their own way, ” she says. “It’s definitely going to knock you. … It’s gonna knock you somewhere.”
The socially conscious singer adds that her project will touch on profound topics, including stereotypes.
“I went into the studio this time with a lot more purpose and intention. I’ve come to the place where I recognize things about myself and the world that I didn’t quite recognize before,” Keys says. “I just want to really talk truthfully and honestly about all of those things.”
She also revealed that the material will include her best work.
“These songs — promise you with all my heart –it’s the best album I’ve ever done, period. That doesn’t mean that it’s the best album I’ll ever do, I believe there’s even greater to come, but this one, definitely. I’m crazy-excited for people to hear it,” Keys says.
